Professional experience

Shantanu worked at junior levels in Ghatge Patil Transports and MacKinnon Mackenzie Ltd. before starting his own company in adventure tourism. Thereafter, he moved on to conducting experiential learning based programmes for corporates, and working outdoor leadership courses for USA-based organisations, both spanning a period of more than fifteen years. Recently, Shantanu has been the primary contributor to documentation undertaken for accreditation of an outdoor education centre and safety guidelines developed for adventure.

Currently:

• Experiential Learning based programmes for corporates in areas of leadership development & teamwork, with programme design customised to address programme-specific goals
• Consulting for outdoors based organisations in areas like accreditation work, staff training & development, and safety guidelines & SOPs

General

• One of the founder-directors of a non-profit company formed with the purpose of enhancing safety in outdoors and doing advocacy at state and central government levels
• Instructor for wilderness first aid at subsidized prices
• Voluntary work for outdoors based clubs
• Personal trips in mountain regions in Western Ghats, Himalaya, parts of Europe & U.S.A.
